The chargrilled oysters were wonderfully seasoned, with rich butter, high heat, and garlic softened to a perfect melt. Half a dozen disappeared in seconds. The lobster pasta was also beautifully done. The noodles were cooked to a soft, comforting texture and blended with a savory sauce that lingered on the tongue. The portion was generous. The alligator taco was more average. Although many people recommend it, the alligator meat had a spongy, chicken-like texture that was not very appealing. The dessert, however, was astonishing. It felt like something meant for four people. Even with two of us working on it for ten minutes, the peak remained untouched. Beneath a mountain of whipped cream were cold scoops of ice cream and a warm brownie, a combination that kept the textures changing with every bite. A lovely experience overall.

I highly recommend the charbroiled oysters. It has a smoky, buttery, savory flavor profile that is way more delicious than I expected it to be. The customer experience expert, Darren sold us on the oysters and I am so glad he did. The atmosphere of this location is mixed in with the hustle and bustle of the Hilton hotels shared space so it doesn’t feel as uniquely intimate as I would have liked. But still if you’re in the area is a must try.

Located right in the heart of downtown New Orleans, Drago’s Seafood Restaurant was the perfect stop for Night 2 after a long day of sightseeing, walking, and shopping. Of course, we came for their famous charbroiled oysters, and they absolutely lived up to the hype—rich, smoky, buttery, and unforgettable! The service and atmosphere were equally impressive—warm, welcoming, and relaxed. For a party of 8, the wait was about 30 minutes, which we found totally reasonable given how busy they were. Once seated, our food came out quickly and piping hot. We ordered a variety of dishes, and every single bite was amazing. If you’re in NOLA and craving incredible seafood with great service in a lively setting, Drago’s should definitely be on your list!

One of my favorite places to go when I come to New Orleans. The food is fantastic especially the shrimp and grits, grilled cheese sandwich with crab meat and you have to get their famous charbroiled oysters. Everything I tasted was divine and flavorful! Special thanks to my amazing server, Daaren, who was so kind, prompt, personable and gave me some great recommendations to try off of the menu. He is truly a gem! Keep up the great work and thank you for your fantastic service!!

Just STELLAR food. Charbroiled oysters are a must. Gator tacos are phenomenal. Sweet potato fries hit. Absolutely amazing seafood. The restaurant does get really busy, so the service is mid. It is an upscale restaurant though, so it is a nice environment for dinner. Would definitely come back!

Amazing experience, highly recommended. The charbroiled oysters are an absolute must. I normally don’t like grilled oysters at all, but this place completely changed my mind. They were rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, no fishy taste at all. We finished one round and immediately ordered another. We also tried the lobster Marco, fried alligator, and gumbo, and every single dish was excellent. Honestly, there were no misses. The flavors were spot on, portions were generous, and we cleaned every plate, which doesn’t always happen when traveling. The service was another highlight. The staff was professional, warm, and very efficient. Ordering and food delivery were smooth, and there were plenty of seats available, no waiting at all. Definitely a place we’d come back to, whether it’s your first time in New Orleans or your tenth.

We had dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere and service were great. We had the Fleur de Lis Shrimp, the red pepper aioli was delicious. My wife had the Seafood Pasta and said it was the best she’s ever had. My Grilled Shrimp Pasta with Alfredo was fantastic. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert, it came out in a deconstructed form, and the flavor was perfect with coffee.
